features the "Ruby Slippers," from the 1939 MGM movie, "The Wizard of Oz." The red, glitter-covered, low-heeled pumps have buckram bows on the front and hang from a yellow satin ribbon tied in a bow and fastened to a disc, colored red and yellow in a swirl, like the yellow-brick road from the film. "There's no place like home" is written in yellow script within the red spiral portion. There were four pairs used during filming, decorated with bugle beads, glass jewels, rose rhinestones, and sequins, all hand-sewn onto an overlay for each shoe. To reduce the sound of Judy Garland's footsteps onstage, orange felt was also glued to the soles of several pairs. Fun Fact: In the original books by Frank L. Baum, the shoes were silver but since the movie was filmed in technicolor, they wanted red, to make them "pop" more on the big screen. Here's your chance to own a pair of the rarest and most magical shoes in the world!
