Wearing a halter-style blue Summer dress with a wavy, black border on the hem that matches the familiar pattern on the Crayola wrapper, she sits atop a cornflower showing that the crayon perfectly matches the shade of cornflower blue. The delicate petals appear give the appearance of a ruffled underskirt, magically turning her dress into an elegant gown, fashioned by Mother Nature. Topping off her outfit is a hat shaped like a crayon-tip, in a darker blue, and her glittery transparent wings have pale blue accents. Historically found growing as a weed all Summer long in fields of corn or other grains, the "Centaurea cyanus," or cornflower, aka bachelor's button, is now endangered in it's native habitat, due to over-use of herbicides, but you can rescue this 'lil cutie from extinction by bringing her, and her namesake flower to your home! Bring color, creativity, and fairy magic to your Christmas tree with this charming ornament -- perfect for art and flower-lovers. Fun Fact: Protocyanin, the anthocyanin pigment responsible for the rich, blue color of these flowers, which attracts bees and other pollinators, is the exact same pigment that produces the red in roses. The cornflowers petals have a different pH from rose petals, forming a copigmentation complex, which helps them keep their intense color.
