This 2025 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament features the Wicked Witch of the West from "The Wizard of Oz" 1939 movie, based on the classic children's book by American author, L. Frank Baum. She has been defeated by Dorothy Gale, a child with a bucket of water! The actress who portrayed her, Margaret Hamilton, was only 36 during filming, and suffered 2nd and 3rd-degree burns from an accident early-on, refusing to do any more scenes with fire upon returning to the set, after weeks of hospitalization. Her stunt double was also injured, along with the other main characters, in different ways, including Toto. It's widely considered to be one of the most "dangerous" movies made, due to the unusual number of illnesses/injuries. Fun Fact: It's reported that Margaret was one of the nicest people you could ever meet, and was disturbed by the fact that children were so frightened by her, so Mr. Rogers brought her on his show to demonstrate that it was all make-believe, and in 1976, she reprised her Wicked Witch role on Sesame Street. Magic Light, Sound, and Motion is activated when a Keepsake Power Cord (sold separately) is inserted and you press the button on the base, to see illumination, watch her "melt" and hear her dialogue from the famous scene. The dark figure recedes into the base, until all you see is her hat and cape on the floor, next to her broom. The ornament can stand on it's own, or be hung from the top, and is dated on the underside of the base.
