2025 Guinan, Star Trek: The Next Generation
2025 Hallmark CBS Ornament
QXI8822
This 2025 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament features Guinan, the El-Aurian, from the CBS series, "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Played by Whoopi Goldberg, she was the bartender in "10 Forward", on the U.S.S. Enterprise-D, and always dressed monochromatically, with a futuristic version of a medieval bonnet-- shown here all in purple, down to her boots! She comes from a race of listeners, which makes her the perfect person to talk-out a problem with, and bartender is the perfect position, since the ship already has a counselor! She has a very close relationship with Captain Jean-Luc Picard, which spanned hundreds of years, before and after her time on this ship. Posed with her hands up in a defensive, psychic move, she is responding to threats from "Q", the trickster extra-dimensional being from the Continuum, first introduced in this series. He's in the bar with Picard, warning him that she's a "dangerous creature" and calls her an "imp," threatening to remove her from the ship, when she holds her hands out, like he does when he uses his god-like powers. Although she's not near-omnipotent, like Q, she is over 600 years old and has abilities leftover from when she was trapped in the Nexus, which allow her to perceive and sometimes influence events outside of the limitations of linear space and time. Unfortunately, this didn't help her when the Borg destroyed her planet! The ornament can stand on it's own, or be hung from the top, and is dated on the underside of her left boot.
