This 2025 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament features Groot, from Marvel's movie, "Guardians of the Galaxy," standing on the back of Cosmo, the Soviet space-dog. Originally a male in the book, Cosmo is a female in the movie, changed to honor Laika, the real-life astro-dog launched into space by the Soviet Union in the 1960's. Cosmo wears a red, white and blue astronaut suit with metallic silver detail on the neck ring, which connects to the helmet. The detailed craftsmanship is impressive, right down to her pink paw pads. Young Groot is ready to play and throw a stick for Cosmo to chase but she already knows which way it's going to go, as she obtained telekinesis and telepathy, after exposure to radiation during the time adrift in the cosmos! The ornament can stand on it's own or be hung from the top, and is dated on Cosmos' belly.
