MCT2015
The Mayor's Christmas Tree Ornament 35th in the series.
Limited Edition
Celebrate a timeless Kansas City tradition with the 2015 Woodland Joy Hallmark Keepsake Ornament, part of the iconic Mayor's Christmas Tree series. Since 1908, the Mayor's Christmas Tree has stood as a symbol of hope and generosity, dedicated to helping Kansas City's most vulnerable citizens during the holiday season.
Located in Crown Center Square since 1973, the tree serves as the centerpiece for fundraising efforts that provide food, clothing, gifts for elderly shut-ins, and holiday celebrations for children in need. Proceeds from the Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund continue to support those who need it most, making every donation a meaningful contribution to the community.
This special 2015 ornament, designed by Hallmark artist Fayrol Unverferth , is crafted from the wood of the previous year’s Mayor’s Christmas Tree—transforming a symbol of charity into a lasting keepsake. From 1981 to 1986, ornaments in this series were limited editions, adapted from Hallmark's traditional designs. Since 1987, each piece has been uniquely crafted, capturing the spirit and purpose of this beloved tradition.
A tribute to Kansas City's enduring spirit of giving, Woodland Joy is more than an ornament—it's a piece of local history and a symbol of heartfelt generosity.
