Lionel Train
2011 Lionel Train #16 - 726 Berkshire Steam Locomotive
2011 Hallmark Lionel Train Ornament
QX8717
Sixteenth in the Hallmark Keepsake Lionel Trains ornament series
From the 1920s through the 1950s, the Berkshire steam locomotive brought great power and dependability to freight transport on American railways. Its brute strength and economical design made it a natural choice for main line duty across the country. Due to its enduring popularity, Lionel immortalized this train in its 1947 2129WS Freight set.
Modeled after an original Boston & Albany Berkshire, the 726 locomotive rolled along "O" gauge track on its distinctive 2-8-4 wheel arrangement. It captured Lionel's postwar design ethic, with scale detail, a working headlight, and real smoke puffing from its track.
