Sky's the Limit
2010 H-1 Racer, Sky's the Limit #14
2010 Hallmark Sky's the Limit Ornament
QX8316
The gleaming H-1 Racer was conceived and built to be the ultimate challenger to air speed records of it time. The first plane built by the Hughes Aircraft Company, it set its first world record of 352,322 mph on September 13, 1935. Fitted with longer wings in 1937, the H-1 shattered the trans-continental record, flying from Los Angeles to New York in 7hr, 28min, 25sec. Features employed on the H-1 Racer continued to impact the design of high-performance aircraft until the dawn of the "jet age."
