Rushing into marriage to her first husband, Charles Hamilton, Scarlett has no time to have a dress made and must wear her mother's wedding gown. It's not a perfect fit for a bride with the "smallest waist in three counties," but Scarlett manages to make the gown her own.
For the lavish production of Gone With the Wind, MGM wardrobe designers used more than thirty yards of French silk satin to create a memorable wedding gown in a film where memorable dresses are many.
