#3 in the Hoop Stars series!
A sportswriter nicknamed high school basketball star Earvin Johnson -"Magic." The name described the player's quickness, sleight of hand, and magical personality. Magic continued to delight fans and lead his teams to victory-at Michigan State University, in the NBA, and at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain. First-round draft choice of the Los Angeles Lakers in 1979, he spearheaded the Lakers' famous "Showtime" offense and played on five NBA championship teams.
