1985 Twirl-About Santa - Stocking Hanger
1985 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
QSH8113
This 1985 Hallmark Christmas Stocking Hanger features a Twirl-About Santa waving from the middle of a Della Robia style wreath with oranges, grapes, red and green apples. He's holding a yellow gift box with a red bow and twirls around on a metal spindle inside the wreath, which has the same fruit on the back of the wreath. A "folded" ribbon on the bottom is made of metal and acts as a hook for the stocking. It's encased in a green flocked velvet plastic tray, molded for protection, and is packaged in the original full color box.
Fun Fact: The Della Robia wreath style was inspired by Italian Renaissance art, which used glazed terracotta to frame religious plaques with realistic swags of fruit, and became a staple of historic Colonial Williamsburg harvest and Christmas wreaths, with oranges, apples, and pomegranates, nestled among fresh evergreens, seed pods, and pine cones.
