Miniature Creche
1985 Miniature Creche #1
1985 Hallmark Miniature Creche Ornament
QX4825
First in the Miniature Creche Collector's Series.
This 1985 Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament features a nativity scene with brown plastic figurines, representing Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus, inside an open shelter with an arched, thatched roof. The handcrafted structure has a wooden base and arches with a straw mat floor and roof. The copyright on the underside is dated, and the ornament can stand on it's own or be hung from the top. It's encased in a green flocked velvet tray, molded for protection, and packaged in the original green box with clear, plastic lid.
Ed Seale is from Ontario, Canada, and worked for Hallmark from 1968-1999. He's best known for being one of the founding artists in the Frosty Friends series, the longest-running Hallmark Keepsake series. "The warmth of fun and friendship in an icy, cold place. We lived on a farm in Canada — and the pond was the biggest source of entertainment."
