Nostalgic Childhood
1984 Wooden Lamb, Nostalgic Childhood #1
1984 Hallmark Nostalgic Childhood Ornament
QX4394
First in the Nostalgic Childhood Hallmark Keepsake series, also referred to by some as the Wooden or Wood Childhood series.
This 1984 Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament features a wooden lamb toy on wheels. It's wooden body is shaped like a barrel and ribbed, to mimic heavy layers of fur, with a white wooden tail on the back, a green wooden bell on it's white chest, grey and pink wooden ears, and a red satin ribbon bow around it's neck. The muzzle and legs are plastic and it has red wheels instead of hooves. All four wheels move and the dated copyright is on the underside of the base. The ornament is packaged in the original full color box.
Fun Fact: Unlike wild sheep, which naturally shed their coat in the Spring, domestic sheep need to be sheared. Because they produce more wool due to centuries of selective breeding by humans, they can overheat, lose mobility and become vulnerable to parasitic infestations, if left untended. Luckily, domestic sheep secrete lanolin, which helps to heal cuts they may incur during the shearing process, so human assistance isn't usually required for minor nicks or razor burn.
