1984 Village Church
1984 Hallmark early 90's, and is best known for creating the beloved Keepsake Ornament
QLX7021
NOTE: This ornament was also released in 1985.
This Lighted Hallmark Christmas Ornament features a white church with teal roof and spire and a metallic-gold cross at the apex. It's double doors are open wide, with wreaths on each side and trios of red taper candles are lit in the arched stained glass windows. Inside, we can see a choir of boys singing, with the soloist out in front, wearing a blue robe with red sash. The ornament can stand on it's own, or be hung from the top, and a metal grommet at the back allows for a standard bulb from a mini tree light string to make this little village church glow with "heavenly" warmth. The copyright at the bottom on the back side is dated. The ornament is encased in a clear plastic tray, molded for protection, and packaged in the original, green "window" box.
Donna Lee, the artist, worked for Hallmark from 1958 until she retired in the early 90's, and is best known for creating the beloved Keepsake series, "Nostalgic Houses and Shops," and the unofficial, "Donna Lee Angels."
