Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
1984 The Fun of Friendship
1984 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
QX3431
This 1984 Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament is a clear acrylic bell, with frosted sunken relief of a child in a parka and snow boots with a fawn laying at her feet. She's tying a ribbon with a holly cluster around it's head, like a bonnet, and a string of small ball ornaments is around it's neck. Three snowflakes surround them in the sky and the sentiment below reads, "A friend is a partner in life's merry moments. 1984." The bottom edge is also frosted, except for the bell clapper. It's encased in a plastic shell and packaged in the original box, with full window on the front and a die cut on the back, in the shape of the ornament.
This intaglio technique is opposite that of a cameo, which has a raised, outward-protruding design, so when it's viewed from the front, you look through the smooth, clear material and see a detailed, three-dimensional image floating inside.
