Frosty Friends
1984 Roller Skating Rabbit
1984 Hallmark Frosty Friends Ornament
QX4571
This 1984 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament features a white rabbit sitting inside a green and cream-colored roller skate with red shoelaces and wheels. All four wheels move and the ornament can stand on it's own or be hung from the top. The ornament is packaged in the original full color box.
Fun Fact: Roller skates were developed in 1735 by the Belgian inventor, John Joseph Merlin, but didn't have a way to turn or stop! The first inline skate was created in 1819 by French inventor, Monsieur Petitbled, whereas modern rollerblades were not made popular until the 1980's.
Ed Seale is from Ontario, Canada, and worked for Hallmark from 1968-1999. He's best known for being one of the founding artists in the Frosty Friends series, the longest-running Hallmark Keepsake series. "The warmth of fun and friendship in an icy, cold place. We lived on a farm in Canada — and the pond was the biggest source of entertainment."
