Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
1984 All Are Precious
1984 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
QLX7044
This 1984 Hallmark Christmas Ornament is a clear, acrylic teardrop with beveled edge and a frosted sunken relief image of a shepherd, lamb, and donkey on a hill overlooking the city of Bethlehem, with the star shining down on them. The young shepherd boy kneels on the ground, with one arm around the lamb to his right, and the donkey looks towards up at the starlight. The gold metal cap serves as a hanger and also has a hole to insert the lightbulb to make it glow, when attached to a standard miniature tree light string. The sentiment at the bottom is in metallic-gold: "All are precious in His sight..." The ornament comes with two lightbulbs and instructions. It's encased in a clear plastic shell, molded for protection, and is packaged in the original box with open "window" front.
NOTE: This ornament was also released in 1985.
Fun Fact: This intaglio technique is opposite that of a cameo, which has a raised, outward-protruding design, so when it's viewed from the front, you look through the smooth, clear material and see a detailed, three-dimensional image floating inside.
