Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
1983 Mouse On Cheese
1983 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
QX4137
This 1983 Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament features a little, grey mouse, wearing a Santa hat and a red bow on the end of it's tail. It's sitting on top of a wedge of Swiss cheese, nibbling on a large chunk held with both hands, with eyes closed and a happy, satiated look. The cheese has a big green ribbon, bordered with metallic-gold, tied in a bow on the side--Santa always knows the best gifts to give! The ornament can sit on it's own or be hung from the top and has the copyright on the underside of the base, within the ribbon. It's packaged in the original full color box.
Linda Sickman, one of the original Hallmark Keepsake Ornament artists, started working for Hallmark in 1963 and joined the Keepsake division in 1975. She's best known for her work with pressed tin, folk art, and the series, "Rocking Horse Memories," which ran from 1981-1996. Her most sought-after pieces include the Winter Angel and Americana-style Santa and Mrs. Claus figures.
