1983 Hallmark Frosty Friends Ornament
QX2077
This 1983 Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament is a frosted white glass teardrop bulb, with metal cap and clear, plastic sleeve featuring the native Alaskan child and the polar bear cub made famous by the longest running Hallmark series, "Frosty Friends." Dressed in a white parka with holly leaves and berries on top of the hood, the child holds a green box with a large red bow and holly decoration in both hands, extending the gift to the baby bear, who sits patiently in the snow, with arms out in anticipation. The bear wears a red bow around it's neck and the caption, in brown cursive, reads: "Friendship is a special gift that gives your heart a happy lift! The dated panel, which has "CHRISTMAS 1983," in brown on the snow-covered ground, shows them both waving at Santa as he crosses the yellow moon in his sleigh, with his reindeer flying across the night sky. The ornament is packaged in the original "window" box, viewable from all sides, so you can see the entire bulb.
Fun Fact: The indigenous people of Alaska include more than 20 distinct cultures and 229 federally recognized tribes, referred to by different names according to region, and make-up 15-18 percent of the state’s population.
