Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
1983 Cute, Time For Sharing
1983 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
QX3077
This 1983 Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament is an acrylic disc with beveled edge and frosted image of a little girl tying a scarf around a kitten, sitting on a log. The image is a sunken relief, carved into the back and the message around the top edge, in metallic-silver, reads: "Christmastime is a time for sharing, smiling, loving, giving, caring!" The ornament is dated "1983" in metallic-silver on the bottom and also in the copyright along the edge on the back side. It's encased in a clear plastic shell, molded for protection, and packaged in the original box, with full "window" on the front and a die-cut circle on the back.
Fun Fact: This intaglio technique is opposite that of a cameo, which has a raised, outward-protruding design, so when it's viewed from the front, you look through the smooth, clear material and see a detailed, three-dimensional image floating inside.
