1983 Hallmark Clothespin Soldier Ornament

Second in the Clothespin Soldier Hallmark Keepsake series.
This 1983 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament features a clothespin design, made to look like a wooden soldier from the American Revolutionary War, wearing a long red coat, blue and red tri-corner hat, and playing a red and green snare drum with metallic-gold accents. The ornament has a dated copyright on the rim of the drum and the arms are jointed to move up and down with the drum sticks. It's packaged in the original full color box.
Linda Sickman, one of the original Hallmark Keepsake Ornament artists, started working for Hallmark in 1963 and joined the Keepsake division in 1975. She's best known for her work with pressed tin, folk art, and the series, "Rocking Horse Memories," which ran from 1981-1996. Her most sought-after pieces include the Winter Angel and Americana-style Santa and Mrs. Claus figures.
