1982 Santa's Workshop
1982 Hallmark early 90's, and is best known for creating the beloved Keepsake Ornament
QX4503
This 1982 Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament gives us a peek inside Santa's workshop, where we see him in his work clothes, building a dollhouse with a blue roof, on his wooden workbench. The snow-covered shack has a red-framed, glass-paned front door, with a sign above that reads "K. Kringle," in green. Green garland wraps around the building, with red bows on both sides of the door. The red brick chimney has a big, green "K" on top and a wreath with blue bow at the bottom. Inside the one-room cottage, there is a fir tree, not decorated yet. The calendar on the wall says it's December 24th, so it's crunch time for Santa! The ornament can stand on it's own, or be hung from the top and is dated in the copyright, on the underside of the base. It's packaged in the original box, with clear plastic lid and green flocked velvet tray, molded for protection.
NOTE: This ornament was reissued in 1983.
Donna Lee, the artist, worked for Hallmark from 1958 until she retired in the early 90's, and is best known for creating the beloved Keepsake series, "Nostalgic Houses and Shops," and "Donna Lee Angels."
