1982 Norman Rockwell
1982 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
QX2023B
NOTE: Hallmark previously used this product code for the 1978 ornament, "Here Comes Santa."
This 1982 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament is part of the Norman Rockwell Collection and features a red satin ball with clear, plastic sleeve, printed with: "From The Norman Rockwell Collection 1982, Hearts are light, Smiles are bright, Child's delight--It's Christmas!" Three panels show his famous illustrations from Hallmark Christmas cards, with his name under each: "1957 Boy in Santa Suit," "1957 Surprised Boy with Candle," and "Choir Boy," without the angel musicians surrounding him, as in the original artwork. The ornament is packaged in the original "window" box, viewable from all sides, so you can see the entire bulb.
Norman Percevel Rockwell (1894–1978), the American painter and illustrator, is most famous for the decades of magazine covers he created for The Saturday Evening Post, showing a sentimental and now, nostalgic, view of American life. Also notable is his long-lasting relationship with the Boy Scouts of America's publication "Boys' Life" (now known as "Scout Life"). A prolific artist, he produced over 4,000 original works in his lifetime, most of which are now in public collections.
