1982 Musical Angel
1982 Hallmark early 90's, and is best known for creating the beloved Keepsake Ornament
QX4596
This 1982 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament features a red-haired angel boy in blue, sitting on a cloud, made of clear acrylic, decorated for the holidays with yellow stars and a holly cluster. He wears a gold metal halo and plays a metallic-gold harp with both hands. The ornament is dated in the copyright on the underside of the base and can "sit" on it's own, or be hung from the top. It's packaged in the original, full color box.
Fun Fact: The harp is one of the oldest instruments and is believed to have existed as early as 15,000 BC, with early versions in ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt dating back to 3000 BC. Walls of many Egyptian tombs were decorated with painted sculptures of people playing the instrument. The word means "to pluck" and it's intended to be played with just the first four fingers of both hands.
Donna Lee, the artist, worked for Hallmark from 1958 until she retired in the early 90's, and is best known for creating the beloved Keepsake series, "Nostalgic Houses and Shops," and "Donna Lee Angels."
