This 1982 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament is a white satin ball, with clear plastic sleeve, featuring woodland critters ice skating in a line, while holding onto each other, with the caption: "Hearts are happy when friends are together. Christmas 1982." Heading up the "conga line" is a bear cub waving with a big smile, dressed in green mittens, red skates, and a green, blue, and white scarf. A red fox is holding onto the bear's left mitten with both paws and is wearing green skates. A brown rabbit wearing a blue, red, and white scarf, with red skates, holds onto the fox's long tail, while looking to his side and grabbing the green mitten of the racoon wearing red skates next in line. The raccoon's fat, striped tail is the lifeline for a little chipmunk, who's losing his red and white stocking hat with a jingle bell on the end. The chippie slides on his rear, the green skates barely touching the ice, as a small mouse in a green scarf and red skates floats in midair, both paws tightly gripping the chipmunk's tail. Last in line, we see the mouse's buddy, happily hanging onto their rope-like tail with one green mitten, and waving with the other, as he kicks his heels in the air, with just one red skate touching the ice. The ornament is packaged in the original "window" box, viewable from all sides, so you can see the entire bulb.
Fun Fact: The Conga is a Cuban carnival dance that became a novelty in the US during the 1930s-1950s, made popular by Hollywood musicals and involved forming a line and dancing concentrically in a circle, or around the room, adding people as the the circle widens. Conga dancers would place their hands on the waist or shoulders of the person in front of them, with the footwork alternating sides as the line snakes along. The "Miami Super Conga" performed in 1988 during the Calle Ocho Festival, was the largest recorded conga line in history, bringing together 119,986 people in a single line.
