1982 Hallmark Frosty Friends Ornament

This 1982 Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament is a polished, solid brass heart locket, which has an oval photo holder on each side, and a special ornament hook to display the locket in the open position. The caption engraved in cursive, on the front, is "First Christmas Together 1982." On the inside panels, engravings of a Winter bouquet, made of holly leaves and berries, and tied in a bow with evergreen branches, is positioned above each of the photo holders. The back side is debossed with the dated copyright, at the bottom center. The ornament is coated with lacquer to prevent tarnishing, and the instructions noted on the back of the box indicate to clean it with a soft, moist cloth. It's packaged in the original green box with lid and full color sleeve.
Ed Seale is from Ontario, Canada, and worked for Hallmark from 1968-1999. He's best known for being one of the founding artists in the Frosty Friends series, the longest-running Hallmark Keepsake series. "The warmth of fun and friendship in an icy, cold place. We lived on a farm in Canada — and the pond was the biggest source of entertainment."
