Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
1981 Sailing Santa
1981 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
QX4395
This 1981 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament features Santa waving from a red hot air balloon with the caption: "Merry Christmas 1981." The balloon portion is made of a red satin ball with a metallic-gold braid border, meant to look like a rope, on the plastic cap, imprinted with the message. Four Christmas stockings hang from the basket, instead of sand bags, and the four supporting "ropes" from the basket to balloon are made of wire, with metallic-gold jingle bells at the base. The ornament can stand on it's own, or be hung from the top, and the copyright on the underside of the base is also dated. It's packaged in a diorama box with snow-covered village scene, to look as if Santa is flying over the town, while snowflakes fall from the blue sky.
