Hallmark Keepsake Ornament

1981 Mouse, Ambassador, Rare

1981 Rare Hallmark Ornaments > 1981

QX47E

This 1981 Hallmark Christmas Ornament was released by their subsidiary, Ambassador, as part of The Holiday House Collection, and is a rare find for collectors of this box/brand. Ambassador was a division of Hallmark Cards, Inc. from 1979-1982, and approximately 50 different ornaments were sold in select stores, such as Ben Franklin, Woolworth's, card shops, drug stores and supermarkets. Today, they stand as rare treasures, with their elegant designs and limited availability adding to their collectible allure. This adorable 'lil white mouse is holding his red and green stocking open with both paws, and blushing sweetly, with his eyes closed in anticipation. His humble, wishful smile says he's hoping for a special "well-deserved" treat from Santa. The oversized red and green striped stocking cap is almost as big as the mouse is, with it's red, fringe pom pom almost touching his tail, but not big enough to cover those giant ears! The ornament can stand on it's own, or be hung from the top, and is dated in the copyright, on the underside of the base. It's packaged in the original box with clear plastic over the window, and green flocked velvet plastic tray, molded for protection.
