QX4375
This 1981 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament features a plastic Panorama Ball with gold metal cap and two clear windows to view both sides. The front shows a blonde child in a blue snowsuit and brown beanie, standing in the snow outside a toy store's window, with a red cardinal perched on the windowsill. They're both looking at a big brown teddy bear, seated next to a blue/green ball and a red toy car, on the shelf in the window display. The child has one hand on the window and the other arm is outstretched towards the bear, longingly. The ornament is dated "1981," in red, under the red Toy Shop sign. The reverse side shows the inside of the store, with Teddy looking out at the child and bird. The front half of the ornament is pale blue and the back is white with a metallic-gold rim on both sides. It's packaged in the original, clear plastic box.
Donna Lee, the artist, worked for Hallmark from 1958 until she retired in the early 90's, and is best known for creating the beloved Keepsake series, "Nostalgic Houses and Shops," and "Donna Lee Angels."
