Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
1980 Nativity

QX2254
This 1980 Hallmark Christmas Ornament is part of the Tree-Trimmer Collection and features a gold glass ball with metal cap and transparent, plastic sleeve printed with a sweet nativity scene with children and animals. On one side, the baby Jesus is lying in a manger, as three young children kneel over him, praying. A lamb, mouse, duck, squirrel, and yellow bird are around the manger and the caption reads, "Silent night...holy night..." The scene is bordered with leaves, holly, and flowers, with animals hidden in the greenery: two rabbits, a cardinal, chipmunk, wren, and squirrel. The artist's signature is next to the duck. On the other side, a young shepherd boy kneels on a hillside, praying next to a lamb, racoon, squirrel, and bird. The Star of Bethlehem can be seen shining over the city ahead and the caption reads "Christmas 1980." The surrounding greenery and forest animals are similar to those on the message panel, and the copyright is also dated, printed on the sleeve, in between the panels. The ornament is packaged in the original "window" box, viewable from all sides, so you can see the entire bulb.
Disclaimer: As with many older glass ball ornaments, it may have developed "age spots," which is normal with older ornaments.
NOTE: Golden glass balls have a tendency to develop more age spots than white, frosted, or chrome balls, and this is normal aging for that material.
