1980 Christmas Choir, Rare

This 1980 Hallmark Christmas Ornament is rare due to a low production number.

Part of the Tree-Trimmer Collection, this golden glass ball has a metal cap and transparent, plastic sleeve, featuring a trio of young African American girls, singing in choir and holding songbooks. They all wear choir dresses with red cassocks (the base robe), cottas (the shorter white overlay), and green bows, around the collar. The shortest little girl stands on a wooden stool, at the end of the line, and the caption above them reads: "Go Tell It On The Mountain ... ... Jesus Christ Is Born!" The background on both panels is gold with a scatterprint of evergreen branches, holly, mistletoe, Christmas cookies, tree ornaments, candy canes, presents, trumpets, and snowflakes. The back has a snow-covered church on a hillside with fir trees and snow falling in a night sky with "Christmas 1980" in gray. The copyright is also dated and printed in between panels on the sleeve. The ornament is packaged in the original "window" box, viewable from all sides, so you can see the entire bulb.

Disclaimer: As with many older glass ball ornaments, it may have developed "age spots," which is normal with older ornaments.
