1979 Outdoor Fun

This 1979 Hallmark Christmas Ornament is part of the Tree-Trimmer Collection and features Swing Motion, with a small, brown-haired child sitting on a flat, wooden swing. The plank swing hangs from a metallic-bronze ribbon banner connecting two tall fir trees, at the top. The snow-frosted trees are decorated with red bulbs and each have a red bird perched on top. The child is wearing a red jacket and boots with green pants and mittens, holding on the the swing with both hands. Red, orange, and yellow flowers with green leaves sit on top of the snow-covered ground, in front and behind each tree. The base is red with metallic-gold on the rim and the copyright is underneath. The ornament is packaged in a metallic-gold box with clear, plastic lid, black flocked velvet plastic tray, molded for protection, and a metallic-gold tag with blank gift card attached.

Linda Sickman, one of the original Hallmark Keepsake Ornament artists, started working for Hallmark in 1963 and joined the Keepsake division in 1975. She's best known for her work with pressed tin, folk art, and the series, "Rocking Horse Memories," which ran from 1981-1996. Her most sought-after pieces include the Winter Angel and Americana-style Santa and Mrs. Claus figures.
