Hallmark Keepsake Ornament

1978 The Wonders Of Nature, The Quail

1978 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament

QX2516

This 1978 Hallmark Ornament is part of the Tree-Trimmer Collection and features a gold, glass ball with a metal cap and transparent, plastic sleeve imprinted with a beautiful Northern Bobwhite Quail. Each side has a rectangular frame bordered with bright orange and a darker reddish-orange background, to complement the earthy tones of the quail's feathers. It's nestled among various plants and berries on the snow-covered ground, on one side, and the other reads: "Nature has a wonderful way of making a wonder-filled world," in orange text, with "1978" at the bottom. The copyright is printed on the orange border, in the corner, closest to the edge of the plastic sleeve. The ornament is packaged in the original "window" box, viewable from all sides, with a tag and gift card. Although the gift card's cover has "Seasons Greetings," the subject and sentiment on the ornament make it easy to gift any time of year, and the colors are perfect for Thanksgiving. Great for bird watchers, wildlife enthusiasts, or collectors of nature's wonders, the options are endless, unlike these ornaments, so get it while you can!

Fun Fact: While not rare on a global scale, this bird's population has suffered declines up to 82%, since 1966, due to habitat loss, and are therefore now considered "rare," or functionally extinct, in many northern and eastern regions, although they remain common in states like Texas.

Disclaimer: As with many older glass ball ornaments, it may have developed "age spots," which is normal with older ornaments.
