1978 Holly And Poinsettia Ball

This 1978 Hallmark Sculpted Holiday Decoration comes with a wooden display pedestal and features a ornamental ball, made to look as if it were carved from wood. It's decorated in a stained-glass style, with six large, red poinsettias -- one on each end and two on each side. They're encircled with a matching red border, accented with metallic-gold trim. Blue-green spruce branches compliment the dark green holly leaves behind each flower, and in-between the flowers are panels with holly clusters, red berries, and spruce branches. A medium-brown wood pedestal, in an "X" design, has a curved, concave top to hug the ball securely and creates an elegant holiday display for your mantel or a table centerpiece for holiday get-togethers. It's packaged in a box with a lid and gold, flocked velvet plastic tray to ensure safe storage.

Linda Sickman, one of the original Hallmark Keepsake Ornament artists, started working for Hallmark in 1963 and joined the Keepsake division in 1975. She's best known for her work with pressed tin, folk art, and the series, "Rocking Horse Memories," which ran from 1981-1996. Her most sought-after pieces include the Winter Angel and Americana-style Santa and Mrs. Claus figures.
