Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
1978 Angels, Twirl-About
1978 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
QX1503
This 1978 Hallmark Christmas Ornament is part of the Tree-Trimmer Collection and features "Twirl-About" motion, with three angels flying around a Christmas tree, decorating with red garland. The angels are dressed in yellow, brown, and red robes, with metallic-gold trim on the sleeves, and all have metallic-gold wings. The tree has yellow bulbs and is topped with a large metallic-gold star. It's red tree stand is dated "1978" on the front, in metallic-gold. Like a knob, the base can be turned manually, to move the angels around the tree, ensuring that the garland is equally distributed, and the copyright is on the underside of the tree. The ornament is packaged in the original metallic-gold box, with clear, plastic lid, molded black flocked velvet plastic tray, and the original metallic-gold tag.
Kathy Killip, an accomplished American commercial artist, worked as a design supervisor for Hallmark from 1965-1974, and her artwork was featured in 1973, the first year of their ornament line.
