1976 Norman Rockwell 1976 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament QX1961 This 1976 Hallmark Christmas Ornament is a frosted glass ball with silver cap, and is part of the Tree-Trimmer Collection. The plastic sleeve is printed with reproductions of original paintings by Norman Rockwell and features two nostalgic scenes, bordered by a green oval frame, with Santa Claus relaxing at home. In one, Santa is relaxing in a chair, under a wall calendar dated "Dec 25," with an exhausted look on his face. He's holding the sheet from the calendar that was dated the 24th, as if to say he's glad it's over! His fur-trimmed jacket is draped across the back of the wooden chair and his mukluk boots, fur-trimmed hat, empty sack, and whip are strewn across the floor. He's wearing a long-sleeved white undershirt under the sleeveless, red union suit, half unbuttoned, to show he ate too many cookies! The artist's signature is under the whip. The other side shows him out of half out of uniform again but wearing his red union suit with shoes, a white apron, and his hat. He's taking a break from toymaking to feed his beloved reindeer. The stable window is decorated with garland and two of his sleigh buddies are eating from the feedbag while the other two wait their turn. "Christmas 1976" is printed in green on the left and the artist's signature is by his left foot, and the ornament is also dated with copyright on the edge of the green border. Disclaimer: As with many older glass ball ornaments, it may have developed "age spots," which is normal with older ornaments. Material: Glass and metal Artist: NA Size: 3.895" H x 3.243" D
