QX1081 This 1974 Hallmark Christmas Ornament features an "Original Charmer Design" by the master Hallmark artist, Mary Hamilton. Highly-respected and one of the most prolific artists Hallmark ever had, she worked for Hallmark Cards for 60 years, creating distinctive work that graced both many Ambassador and Hallmark products with beloved characters which remain collectible and in constant demand today. The frosted glass ball has a silver cap and frosted plastic sleeve printed with a colorful scene in red and green. The front has a green flowered border in an oval shape around two small girls facing each other with sheet music in hand. In between them is swirly, stylized text, reading: "CHRISTMAS 1974." The other side shows three separate vignettes in flowered oval borders showing a child decorating a Christmas tree inside, three children caroling outside, and a girl holding her hand out to a bird in a tree. Drawn similarly to the Betsey Clark illustration style, the group of waif-like children includes six girls and one boy.
Disclaimer: As with many older glass ball ornaments, it may have developed "age spots," which is normal with older ornaments.
