1982 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament

This 1982 Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament is a photo holder made to look like the window of a church steeple. The roofs of the red brick structure are covered with snow and the yellow bell is ringing in the tower. Fir trees are on both sides, one decorated with red, blue, and yellow bulbs. A banner above the photo holder is dated "1982," and the back has the sentiment: "Merry Christmas to My Teacher," in red. The ornament is encased in a clear, plastic shell, molded for protection, and packaged in the original box, with open "window" on the front and die-cut on the back, in the shape of the ornament.

Linda Sickman, one of the original Hallmark Keepsake Ornament artists, started working for Hallmark in 1963 and joined the Keepsake division in 1975. She's best known for her work with pressed tin, folk art, and the series, "Rocking Horse Memories," which ran from 1981-1996. Her most sought-after pieces include the Winter Angel and Americana-style Santa and Mrs. Claus figures.
