1981 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament

This 1981 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament features a young brunette girl swinging on a silver metal star dated "1981" in the center circle. She's wearing a red coat and boots with a Santa hat, green scarf, blue pants and mittens. She's so bundled up, all we can see of her face is her bright blue eyes! The ornament is also dated in the copyright, embossed on the underside of the base, and hangs from a hole in the top point of the star. It's packaged in the original box with a clear, plastic lid and green flocked velvet tray, molded for protection.

Linda Sickman, one of the original Hallmark Keepsake Ornament artists, started working for Hallmark in 1963 and joined the Keepsake division in 1975. She's best known for her work with pressed tin, folk art, and the series, "Rocking Horse Memories," which ran from 1981-1996. Her most sought-after pieces include the Winter Angel and Americana-style Santa and Mrs. Claus figures.
